Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras promises to support the opening of Albania’s membership negotiations with the European Union. A support that is the result of talks between Albania and Greece for solving the problems of the past.
“We are ready for a strategic deal with Albania. An agreement that will resolve the critical differences and lead to our vote to open accession negotiations with our neighboring country in the EU”.
He commented in a speech transmitted directly by public televisions, following the meeting with leaders of the country’s main political parties, who briefed them on the achievements in the settlement of problems with neighbors, the headline of discussions in Davos. Tsipras said that the normalization of relations with Tirana has the consensus of all Greek political parties.
This issue, Aleksis Tsipras, was also discussed at the Davos Economic Forum with his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama. The prime ministers agreed that the conclusion of the dialogue between the two countries will be signed in the spring of the Strategic Partnership Document in Tirana. This event will mark the first visit of Aleksis Cipras to Albania.
So far, the delegations of the two countries engaged in this dialogue, led by ministers Bushati and Kocias, held two meetings in Crete and Korça city.
The issues listed for the resolution are still unknown. It is unknown at what point has reached the agreement for at least two issues of national interest such as the Law of War or a new agreement on the maritime space./tvklan.al
