Albanian police put $40,000 bounty on Klement Balili’s head, an Albanian national wanted internationally under accusations of being part of an International drugs trafficking network.
The police said Wednesday in a statement that whoever informs police on Balili’s location, also called as ‘Balkan’s Escobar” will get the bounty. The anonymity of the informer is guaranteed.
Albanian police has staged many broad operations to catch Balili, but has failed to arrest him.
He is accused of international drugs trafficking and being member of a structured criminal group.
Accusations against Balili have arrived from Albania’s neighboring countries, Italy and Greece, with Greek media calling him “Balkan’s Escobar”.
Balili has served as Transport Director in Saranda city, but was fired by Albanian authorities some months before.
Albanian President Bujar Nishani is due to convey the National Security Council on Friday to discuss Albanian institution’s failure to arrest the wanted trafficker. /tvklan.al
