Prime Minister Edi Rama’s statement on a joint president with Kosovo has been commented by the Greek media. In an article by
Eleftheros Typos
, the statement of Albanian PM is described as his dream of a Greater Albania.
“Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is back to his dreams of Greater Albania. This time he did not speak for other territories, but only Kosovo. As he stated, Albania and Kosovo should have a common president as a symbol of their national unity and common policy on national security”,
the article reads.
While reflecting Rama’s speech in Kosovo, the Greek media, considers Kosovo a “Serbian province”.
“Speaking at the solemn meeting of the so-called Kosovo Assembly for the 10th anniversary of the independence of the Serbian province, Albanian Prime Minister emphasized that ‘although Albania and Kosovo are separate administrative entities, they are part of the same historical story, and there will be one common foreign policy and not just diplomatic missions’.
“After talking about the dreams that according to him might come true, Rama said that Tirana and Pristina are working to create a single customs, trade and economic space”.
The Greek newspaper further emphasizes that, even in the past, Rama expressed that if the Western Balkans region does not join the EU, then the unification of Albania with Kosovo will be the alternative for Albanians to live together.
As Rama unveiled his dreams in Pristina, Moscow’s Lavrov reiterated that his country is “the 1244 resolution adopted by the Security Council in 1999, which recognizes the autonomous territory of Kosovo as part of Serbia”, the article reads./tvklan.al
