The Administrative Court overrules the lawsuit filed by prosecutor Rovena Gashi against Provisional Chief Prosecutor, Arta Marku.
The court’s verdict, issued on Thursday, argues that Gashi’s dismissal from the position of Director of Foreign Relations by order of chief prosecutor Marku was in conformity with her competencies.
“Prosecutor Gashi dismissal from this position was based in the order issued by a higher authority. This order is fully in compliance with chief prosecutor Arta Marku competencies. Thus the Administrative Court can’t interfere in the duties of a constitutional body. This order can’t become subject to inspection”,
argued the judges.
Gashi’s right as a magistrate has not been violated as she continues to exercise her duty as a prosecutor at the central prosecution body. At the end of the hearing, Gashi’s lawyer, Çlirim Gjata, filed charges against the court.
It is expected that this court’s verdict will be appealed. Arta Marku’s moves at the General Prosecutor’s Office have brought strong clashes./tvklan.al
