The National Food Authority has blocked 33 tons of expired food products for being distributed in the market.
In a press release, this authority says that
“during the control done by the inspection body of NFA , it resulted that the subject” IN FOOD “Ltd had 2 premises (warehouses) in Shkoza and Rinas where it kept the products for distribution on the market”.
Specifically, NFA says, in the first warehouse with address in Shkoza were found inappropriate hygienic sanitary conditions as well as 24 tons of long lasting products which were stored in the same environment with regular products.
In addition, in products (pasta) which were within the term of use, there was insect presence which poses a risk to food safety.
While in the other warehouse in Rinas, NFA found 8.8 tons of expired products.
For the above violations of food safety law, NFA fined the subject by ALL 1,000,000, blocked the expired products until their disposal and closed the activity immediately.
NFA, in order to guarantee food safety, calls again on business operators to be cautious about buying raw materials – animal and non-animal products by seeking and receiving only labelled and accompanied with complete veterinary and fiscal documentation products – as it is a legal obligation of their own but it is a very important measure for the food safety of their customer./tvklan.al
