Temporary Chief Prosecutor Arta Marku and Italian Ambassador Alberto Cutillo held a meeting today in the General Prosecutor’s Office, where they discussed the co-operation between the two countries.
According to the official announcement by the prosecution press office, the chief prosecutor expressed his conviction that the Albanian Prosecutor’s Office and Italian law enforcement agencies will intensify co-ordination for joint investigations and the war against the criminal groups operating between the two states.
Arta Marku also thanked the Italian ambassador for his personal and country’s commitment to promoting and contributing to the drafting of the Justice Reform.
The Chief Prosecutor emphasized the importance of Vetting’s process in the justice system in Albania, saying that strengthening the integrity of prosecutors and judges will also affect the further qualitative growth of the fight against organized crime and international trafficking.
Another important topic of discussion was the full implementation of the Decriminalization law. The Italian Ambassador expressed his willingness to cooperate with the Albanian authorities for the timely completion of the process of verification of integrity of Albanian officials./tvklan.al
