The Head of State Ilir Meta as well as Prime Minister Edi Rama have reacted following the announcement of the agreement on the name issue between Greece and what will now be called the Republic of North Macedonia.

Both leaders considered it a historical agreement.

“Very glad for the historic agreement on Macedonia’s name! Comes at the long-awaited moment as a clear Euro-Atlantic perspective for our region. Assessing the courage and responsibility of political leadership and contributing to this important achievement”,

Meta wrote on Twitter.

While Prime Minister Rama said:

“Two progressive leaders of the neighboring countries made history and showed the European Union and the world how the vision and overtook the past and found space for the future”.
