Prime Minister Edi Rama has criticized the local government leaders for their engagement in the project of 100 tourist villages. At a meeting with them, the head of government said the municipalities are still far from the village transformation process.

“We recall for agrotourism as a result of the lack of projects. The number of projects we received was 10 times smaller than the number of municipalities we have. This is incomprehensible and unjustified, it shows how far the new municipalities are from the attention we should have towards the village”.

Infrastructure improvement is a key element of the program, but for the prime minister there are other elements that need to be improved.

Another problematic for tourist areas are urban waste.

In the autumn of this year, the premier promised opening of the European Union’s financial support program with 110 million euros for families and individuals who want to invest in agro-tourism. These will be cash rather than credit for which a reliable application is needed./tvklan.al
